Investment in enterprise and development should be Sutton’s number one priority, according to delegates at Wednesday’s Opportunity Sutton conference.

More than 50% of the 100-plus delegates who attended the regeneration conference held at Sutton’s Holiday Inn on June 13th voted for more polices and investment around enterprise and development to be the local authority’s top priority in the next five years in order to encourage economic prosperity.

The ‘Sutton Survey’ carried out at the conference also showed delegates split equally on the borough’s other priorities for economic growth which included the availability of quality retail and office stock; development of a skilled workforce, improving the quality of housing amenities for employees, improving the image of Sutton as it is portrayed in the wider business community and further development of the borough’s accessibility.
