Sutton is open for business

Sutton is investing to ensure it achieves its vision of becoming London’s most sustainable borough, according to Niall Bolger, chief executive of the London Borough of Sutton, who spoke at the Opportunity Sutton conference.

Niall told the invited audience of more than 100 delegates that the borough had taken the decision to invest in expanding its inward investment and regeneration resources despite the current tough financial climate in order to ensure the borough’s economic renewal.

“Our message is that Sutton and Sutton Council is open for business,” he told the conference at Sutton’s Holiday Inn on Wednesday, June 13th.

“We are raising our game and intend to ensure that investment stimulated in the borough will be of benefit to all our residents. No opportunity is off the table; we have made the decision to invest in capacity and are keen to ensure we make it as easy as possible to make investment decisions.”

Niall told the conference that the ‘jewel in Sutton’s crown’ is its long-standing approach to sustainable development.

“We are embedding our vision as one planet borough in everything we do – means developers will have this as a unique selling point for future. It is a very, very important element in our ambition to be London’s sustainable borough.”
