White Label Consultants provided thousands of people with a day to remember at the inaugural South End Food Festival.
Local businesses and leading figures are calling for a repeat after the event, coinciding with the launch of Croydon’s Restaurant Quarter, brought a fantastic atmosphere to South End.
With a section of the road closed to traffic, crowds were able to sample food, enjoy a host of great local entertainment and watch culinary demonstrations at the event, held as part of the Croydon Recovery Campaign in the wake of last year’s civil disturbances.
Peter Bagatti, owner of Italian restaurant Bagatti’s, described South End Food Festival as the “best feel-good” day he has enjoyed in 21 years in South Croydon.
“I will have a lasting memory of seeing so many happy faces all day long and hearing so many positive and complimentary comments – not only about a great day but actually how fantastic Croydon and its people are.”
Visitors also packed out the restaurants and bars as well as watching entertainment on the main stage from the likes of Lenny Zakatek, who performed his worldwide disco hit ‘Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet’, as well as popular bands such as 308, Doodlebug and Homebrood, and some outstanding dance acts.
White Label is delivering the Croydon Recovery Campaign on behalf of Croydon BID and Croydon Council.
